FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ottawa, CANADA – May 2, 2013 – sage ELECTRONICS® is proud to present the world’s most direct box ~ the SE-D.I.3 ~ MIGHTY G

Designed by Quentin Meek of QZIC Engineering Inc. in partnership with sage ELECTRONICS’ founder Phillip Victor Bova ~ the MIGHTY G is a palm-size truly direct active d.i. box featuring NOS vintage germanium transistors.

“This d.i. sounds great – period.  It will pull tones out of your instrument(s) that you never realized were in there. It fits in the palm of your hand and plugs directly into your instrument … just shove it up your axe” exclaims Bova (who has also owned and operated his recording facility bova sound for the past 25+ years – “you’ll get it right away!”

The MIGHTY G™ is 3.5 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. It is housed in a sophisticated yet tough showroom-finish die-cast enclosure.  It fits in your pocket and plugs directly into most acoustic and electric guitars, basses and keyboards.  It has been designed to sound great, look important and perform flawlessly on live and in studio settings for many years to come.

The unit is phantom powered.  The input connector is a Switchcraft® 1/4” male switching jack.  There is also a female input model (the SE-DI3 F MIGHTY G) for use with instruments with hard-to-get-to output connectors.  The truly (not quasi) balanced output jack is an all-metal Switchcraft gold plated 3 pin XLR connector.

The MIGHTY G’s germanium transistors contribute a magical sonic presence not heard in passive transformer and IC [integrated circuit] direct box designs. Users remark that their instruments produced both deeper and brighter tone than they had previously experienced. In fact these qualities of their instruments had always been there they had just never been heard before!

“In my opinion” says Meek “it seems to add warmth and earth to a bass.  Slap and pop bass are like hitting a punching bag and the germaniums really sparkle on direct electric guitars.”
