That’s exactly what it was, there was a jumper out that connected Pin 1 to ground through the mic transformer pin.
I jumpered it, dropped in your chip and HOLY #$#$%#$^#!  ha.  It sounds incredible!
Not subtle man, great work!  I’m going to do my master section and a few mic pre’s first but holy moly what a diff.
I’m running some stuff I mixed on an old API through it now (cranked way back of course) and all the smoothness is back,
the high end is silky, the reverb trails are clear and right….etc etc.
